We took our second trip on Pointless tbka Seventh Sun III. We did a
day trip again to Sanibel for lunch with Schnables and friends from
home. A Celtic Festival was in town so we went down to listen and have
dinner downtown. Ft. Myers always has something interesting happening.
- SSIII First Anchor
The
next day we took the boat to Captiva and South Seas Resort, lunch at
the Key Lime Bistro, dinner at Bubbles, and lunch the next day we had
lunch with Gil & Brenda aboard a Mainship 39 out of the Chesapeake.
We took off after lunch that day and stayed at the Boca Grande Marina
overnight. We took the golf cart to both ends of Gasparillo Island and
ate dinner at South Beach B&G. This is a very scenic and lovely
small town. Next off to Cayo Costa/Pelican Bay to try anchoring out for
the first time on this boat. We moved around to Punta Blanca North Bay
and settled in for the next two nights.
We
took the dinghy over to Cabbage Key Restaurant for a beer and burger
and worked on understanding what could run without draining the
batteries too far. The heavy winds changed directions in the middle of
the night and the alarms went off. Our anchors either held or reset
quickly because we appeared to stay set.
We went
back to Legacy Harbor the next day for a Potluck Dinner, went with some
boat neighbors to the huge flea market, had dinner with Bob and Kathy
from Sousa, Dave and Gyneth Butler from home came for lunch, and a few
of the past Loopers were nice enough to get a group of post, pre and
planning Loopers to talk about doing the Loop and share a great deal of
information that will benefit all of us getting ready to start the
journey. Legacy Harbor is a hotbed of socializing !
